Works great and doesn't scratch knives
This doesn't actually take metal off your knife or scratch the metal, so I use it on my pretty and expensive knifes. It will straighten out the edge, much like a leather strop would only more aggressively.
My problem with diamond steels is that while they work well, they will actually remove metal and scratch up the edge of the knife. I would rather maintain the straight edge with this type of steel and actually use a sharpening stone when I want to sharpen the knife, because I can go up to a higher grit stone and polish the knife. Also, it is easier to do a better job on a stone as you are working on a stationary surface and not waving both hands around.

Great for knife maintenance, at a great price. Use it to hone all my knives about once a week. Minimizes the need for sharpening, prolonging the life of the blades.

It does the job at a good price. Seems well made. Not much else I can say about it. If it lasts it's a great deal.
